SEO Competition Killer Method

Caveat: I in no way condone the use of the following method for gaining an unfair advantage over your competition or causing their sites any undue hardship. I am vehemently and morally opposed to this method if it is actually put to use. The following method is intended as a satirical parody of what many people do wrong when first building a new website and should be read between the lines as a “what not to do with your own website”. But in the spirit of this forum, it is written black hat style.
Having said this though, purely for testing purposes if anyone has a website that they are willing to ‘donate’ (read: sacrifice) to this test, plus anyone proficient in Xrumer, any volunteers would I’m sure be much appreciated by the BHW community at large to see how Big G is acting at the moment.

The SEO competition killer method

The premise of this method is that Google has recently started sandboxing and de-indexing websites with a lot more rigour in recent times. It was quite easy to gain high SERP rankings even as recently as a year ago, by blasting new sites with a ton of backlinks, sitting back and watching the climb. Recently, many people who use even moderate to reserved backlinking strategies are finding themselves in the sandbox and those who push the limits are even being de-indexed with a lot more regularity. My theory here deviates slightly from the “blast your competition with backlinks and get them de-indexed” theory that has been bantered ad-finitum on this forum, as this is probably more targeted and a little more dirty.

Step One: Identify your targets on page one of SERP

This can be done when doing initial keyword research or in hindsight if you currently have a niche you are trying to rank in.

My theory is that the potential targets for this method will need to be websites that have not yet built history and trust with Google. When doing competition analysis I always look for ‘holes’ in page one of the SERPS anyway, to make sure I can potentially take that place. If you have competitors with high backlinks and more importantly high domain age, I hypothesise that this method will only work to your detriment if you try it on such sites. An old page (or even a new page) on an old domain already has established history and trust with Google, and any page that is currently ranking with a decent number of backlinks no matter how low their PR/Domain Age etc. have probably already taken a punishment at some stage and are now back in Google’s trust books so this method could go either way. Using this method on any of your ‘authority’ competitors will only cement their place on page one and potentially block you out of the market.

The sites we are interested in ‘picking off’ here are the newbies. These sites will have a domain age of less than a year or if using Market Samurai, the DA field will be [ - ]. These sites have not yet proven themselves to Google as an authority for your keyword. This method will most likely work for some older sites, but testing must be rigorous, as per step 2 below.

The next thing we want to look for is the PR of their page and then the PR of the top level domain. Ideally your competitor will not yet have any PR, but I would assume that a PR of 1-2 on the ranking page and no more than a PR of 3 on the domain should qualify as a potential target.

Step Two: Assessing Current Backlinks

In this step we want to establish our target’s quality of backlinks and ‘criminal history’ of link building. As I said earlier, if you come across a site that is under a year old that has a ton of backlinks, you can probably assume that they either have already had a punishment previously for this, got very lucky or are consistently building backlinks. On the other hand, you may find your competitor has a very small number of backlinks, but they could also be very targeted, high quality, high PR links.

The first thing we will do here is have a look at our competitors link building history. A simple search on their domain name, using Google’s filter of “past 24 hours”, “past month” and “past year” should show you how consistently their link building efforts have been and what new backlinks have recently been indexed. If they average out to being quite consistent in their link building, this method may not work. If they have a lot of backlinks but none have appeared recently, then I would say they have probably been punished before and could be liable for another one as a repeat offender. This test is also good if you have targeted an older domain (~2yrs), to find out if they have had no activity in a long time. An older ‘dormant’ site would not suddenly generate a ton of backlinks out of the blue with no content change, so they are probably in for a slapping if they do.

The next thing we will do is open up backlinkwatch dot com and run a quick test on their current page links. Have a look at the anchor text of the **************** links and see if it has been mixed up or is mainly just your keyword appearing. Have a look at the sites that these links are coming from. If they are relevant, natural high PR links, then this site is has been rewarded with their spot on page one and our character attack may fly in our faces – but if their domain age is less than a year, my current thinking is they will still be punished. If their backlinks are coming from spammy looking pages with lots of OBL, then a repeat offence may give them another penal sentence in the sandbox, even a de-indexing.

Step Three: Blast them with ‘dirt’

This step serves to completely discredit your competitors site in the eyes of Google, by not just making them behave unnaturally, but also making them appear as the bottom rung crack whores of internet society.

Spam Time.

We have now qualified our target and it is time for the attack. There are two ways to do this effectively in my opinion. The first way is the manual way. It will be as time consuming as building your own backlinks but a lot more entertaining.

Wear Protection. (I wasn’t going to add this part in as it deviates slightly from the ‘parody’ intent of this method, but if anyone is evil enough to actually try this, for goodness sakes, don’t set yourself up for a law suit).

You will want to use a proxy for this part and make sure you are not signed in to any Google services. (If your target notifies any cooperative webmasters, a simple search through their logs will identify your IP – keep it safeguarded).

We will use standard backlink search techniques to identify the most horribly spammed up **************** blog comment pages and use Google search operators to find ones with words like “buy viagra”, “acai berry” and some smutty adult keywords. There is no limit to how crazy you can go with this, but a rough guesstimate from my experience with my own sites being sandboxed during tests is that 20 -30 backlinks a week for 2 weeks will do it. Be sure to use *only* your keyword as anchor text and ping each backlink immediately using Pingler, so that the links appear immediately and do not at all look natural to the Big G. Completely halt from any further backlinking and wait for them to drop off page one.

The alternative method, if you have this resource available to you is a nice big Xrumer blast, again using your main keyword as anchor text and the words “Acai Berry Supplies” and “Cheap Viagra” as surrounding text in the post.

If you do find your competitor popping up again in the SERPS after a few months, simply rinse and repeat this method and (all things going to plan) you will never see their site appear again.

Remember, you must do the complete opposite with your website of course, as your site is now the goodie two shoes in the eyes of the G.

If you’re looking to get on Google’s first page, it’s really simple… I have my blog listed 7 times on the first page of Google… for a 1,810,000 result search term!!

First, let’s take your niche: I’ll show you some examples::

What do you wanna be on GooglePg1 with ?? what will people type into the Search Engines to find YOUR BLOG ???

Now.. title your blog whatever that term is:
(ex: BlackHat Marketing 101)

Make sure you have 40/50 posts in your blog, related to BlackHat Marketing…
Get a couple backlinks (doesn’t really matter)…

NOW- we’re gonna go sign up with a few Blog Topsites such as:
blogtopsites
blogtoplist
topblogging
blogcatalog
LSBlogs
Blogdigger
MyNewBlog
TopBlogArea
DigNow
TopBlogRateDir
Blogs.com
Blogifer
Skinny
Bloggernow
BlogsOnTop

etc… FIND THEM!!

After you’ve made accounts with all of these places, you’re going to add a new blog (title it, (ex:BlackHat Marketing 101) ..) keep it the same as the blog title… and in the description, start off with:

“BlackHatMarketing 101″…etc…..

Now, after you’ve submitted your blog to ALL of these sites, you’ll have to put the little tracker on your blog somewhere… DO THAT ~!!!!

After you’re done submitting to all the directories, just wait a couple weeks, and you’ll be listed on Google’s 1st page for whatever search term you want!!!

Here’s my Google Page 1: (As you can see I have 6 listings on the 1st page):

Pretty crazy huh??… I get a good amount of traffic from this, and I haven’t even posted on my iPhone site in probably 2 weeks or so!!!… it’s amazing how something so simple can do something so amazing!!!

New SEO Strategy for Seven Days

I use a lot of tools – if you don’t have access to them you can outsource to a point, but it’s just a big time saver for me. You can do manual stuff to a point but tools I use and like are:
1. Senuke
2. SEO Link Robot
3. Scrapebox
4. Bookmarking demon
5. Article Marketing Robot
6. The Best Spinner
7. Sick Submitter
8. Xrumer
9. HMA VPN
10. Elite Proxy Switcher
11. Get Article
12. Linklicious.me account (paid version)

O.K. so here is the strategy; it will work very well for a medium competition KeyWords.

Day 1.
I create 20 web 2.0 accounts, 95% I use are do follow (if you’re not sure get a plugin to highlight no follow’s for you) with different proxy’ form either HMA VPN or Elite Proxy Switcher – all on different emails and different usernames.

I’d hate to set up as many emails as I need at this point so I just use guerilla email, disposable email that doesn’t need any setting up.

Also I make sure I have the KeyWord I want to rank for in the web 2.0′s address. It can be in almost anywhere but best to keep your KeyWord in front. Either way it will work.

Save the usernames and passwords to .txt file and let it age a day or two.
At the same time I have my ScrapeBox scraping as many URL’s as I can possibly find on my niche (scrape for niche related kw if you don’t have them also), let ScrapeBox run over 24-48 hours before doing a test blast to scrape as many as possible.

Day 2.
Create 20 unique KeyWord targeted articles; they all target the same KeyWord. The articles must have around 2% KeyWord density and also I make sure I have around 700-800 words in them. This may take you a day longer and it’s O.K. just make sure your articles are readable and have good KeyWord density, go for quality here since we want them to last.

By now ScrapeBox is usually done harvesting so I scrape some fresh proxy’s, generate random user names and emails and put in a fake web address to run a blast.

After that I save the URL’s that were successfully posted to a text file I’ll use later.

Day 3.
Now I post my articles to the web 2.0 properties WITHOUT putting a link to my money/main page. I just post my articles + I make them all pretty using photos, themes and sometimes videos. I also never use more than one tag (that is the keyword I want to rank for) per post.

Now after I’m done and I’ve saved ALL my links to a new .txt file I fire up SEO link robot and ran indexer + pinger (Senuke has one too but I’m just used to SEO link robot since it was there first) on the links, fire up bookmarking demon and randomly bookmark all webs 2.0′s.

Next in line linklicious.me – also import all the web 2.0 addresses. I use advanced settings in linklicious since then I can put my anchor text in there.

Day 4.
Start up Senuke and create as many web 2.0′s as I can in one run. Also while SeNuke is busy doing that I scrape articles form Ezine and Goarticle using great software called Get article.

Load the articles in TBS and spin them till I get around 70-75% uniqueness.
Now I post this to my web 2.0 created by Senuke (or SEOLink robot whatever you have at your disposal) and I also add more images – different one then tier 1, and randomly connect these to tier 1 handmade web 2.0′s.

Again linklicious gets all my URL’s + advanced settings and anchor text (but not the main KW, just niche related ones)

Day 5.
Basically repeat day 4 so that you create a 3 tier that points to the tier 2 and also bookmark all the tier 2 & fresh created tier 3 properties now.

Day 6.
Make even more articles using Get article and TBS and blast tier 2 using AMR randomly. I’m not extra careful about quality here; just keep the uniqueness to 50%.

Use sick submitter to make a ton of profile links using anchor text that is very niche related but NOT my main KW to tier 1 & 2 (P.S. you can integrate your Sick submitter now with linklicious to save time doing that manually).

Day 7.
Now I use my auto approve niche related SB list on tier 3 and I outsource a very large, 10k usually, Xrumer blast on my tier 3.

Also I finally get back to tier 1 (that must be indexed by now) and put all the links to my money site using only 1 main KW to point back to me. If I have some time on my hands I post some .edu’s and some .gov links to my tier 1 also to make them more powerful (you can add all kinds of quality links here now, video, PR, high PR blog comments etc.).

New Trick: How to get your site indexed quickly

This is nothing new, but I keep seeing posts asking things like:
“I can’t get my site indexed.”, “Why isn’t my site indexed?”, “It’s been 3 days and my site still isn’t indexed.”, “How come google hasn’t indexed my site.”

Whenever I put up a new site it’s usually indexed within a few hours. That’s without even submitting the site to google. It will take longer to get it to rank high, but that is a different topic.

If you want your sites to be indexed fast all you need to do is have one established blog that google likes.

Set up a whitehat wp site. Pick a topic that is interesting enough that you can write a new article at least once ever week or two. An entertainment or news related blog is best because you can just look at current events and rewrite your own article easily, and people are always searching for that stuff. Fill it up with about 10 articles to start, they don’t need to be real long, 100-200 words is more than enough, but don’t just write crap.

Then do some basic seo, you don’t have to spend a lot of time on it. Just do the basic stuff. Make sure you have a good title, description, and keywords in the header. Be sure to add keywords when you write your articles. And use one of the social bookmarking services to get some backlinks. Just a low price package will work fine. Then just add a new article once a day for a few days, then at least once a week for a few more weeks, then couple times a month, then just whenever you think of something. This whole process should require very little time investment. You’re not wanting to take time away from your money making projects.

If you do it right you the blog should end up in the first few pages of google without really trying. I always end up on page one within a few days or a week, but it doesn’t really matter all that much. Add the page to google analytics, and then about a week later, add some adsense to the page, but just on the side bar. You want it to look like a legitimate info source, keep the monetization to a minimum. Your blog should start improving in rank within the first month or so naturally. It doesn’t have to become a high traffic site, even 20 or 30 natural hits a day is enough.
Once you have done that, you have a good backlink site.

Whenever you make a new website, promote it on your blog just like it is any other story. “Hey I just came across this new site and it is pretty interesting. Its about blah, blah, blah. Here is the link”

Once you post the article about the new site on your whitehat blog, it should get indexed the next time google crawls the blog. Usually within a few hours.

On-Site SEO for New Sites

I’m gonna cover on-site here and it’s just a basic run down through what needs to be done no rocket science but should be nice to have it all in one place for our newbies.

TITLE

Not a lot of ppl. pay a enough attention here but there are 2 things you need to keep in mind when it comes to maybe most important on-site SEO factor you’ll have on your site – your title!

1. Quality title will get you much higher CRT% then KW stuffed one!

Yes I really believe that visitor oriented title will get you further then KW’s stuffed one. Example:

<title>KW PHARES 1 | KW PHRASE 2 | KW PHRASE 3</title>

Won’t get your as many clicks/visitors as:

<title>Best KW PHRASE 1 and KW PHRASE 2 source online at www.site.com</title>

I know this may get disputed a lot but just what I noticed from all the sites I’ve tested so far and that were in top 3 (so actually getting enough visitors to test on).
So make sure to include a call to action or a personalized message to your visitors in the title as this is what average SE user will notice first and decide to visit the site or not.

Next don’t be afraid to split test your titles – yes, keep the core the same so you’d avoid rising any flags but you can play with the wording a lot and actually see up to 1% difference in your CTR’s.

2. Keep within the KW count limits if you want your title to be fully displayed in SE

This is really simple but 60% of sites I worked with got it wrong. So here are some tips on writing a good SEO optimized title (not my words but love it!)

“Place the most important keywords or keyword phrases at the beginning of the tag and keep your title short, roughly 10 to 64 characters including spaces. Try to minimize the use of stop words, such as a, an, of, on, etc., as they consume character count and offer no value.”

Also make sure EACH page of your site has a different title the other.

If you’re using WP I’d advise you to go with WordPress SEO by Yoast or All in One Seo Pack to help you achieve this.

Avoid using any special characters in your title (& for example) as you’ll most likely mess up the code of the site and Google won’t “read” correctly. You can always quickly check this by right clicking the “View page source” option. So if you see any funny characters in your title – re-do it!

META KW TAG AND META DESCRIPTION TAG

META KW TAG

All right this is where I’ve see a lot of ppl go wrong as well.

They stuff their Meta KW tag in hopes of squeezing in as many KW’s as possible in order to rank for them. Well this is only counter – productive. The best way to use Meta KW tag is to simply just put in 2 most important KW’s and separate them with comma and that’s it! Nothing more needs to be done here! Some even leave it out completely but I’m still putting it 2 most important kw’s.

META DESCRIPTION TAG

“This can provide potential visitors very relevant information that probably will not be displayed in the snippet otherwise, and can increase the CTR from the search engine results.

Keep all descriptions larger than 50 characters, and no more than 149 characters, including spaces, Google displays 154 characters, but other search engines display even less.
Be aware that if you are adding irrelevant words into the description it can possibly trigger search engine spam filters. “

One of the SEO plugins mentioned above will actually help you out a lot when creating this as it will inform you when you go over your character limits!

So again keep an eye on your characters count as there is nothing uglier than running into three dot’s at the end of the tile or Meta description in the SERP’s.
Example:

KW PHARES 1 | KW PHRASE 2 | KW PHRASE 3 | KW PHRASE 4 | KW PHRASE 5 | KW….
Kw phrase description 1 | kw phrase description 2 | kw phrase description 3 | kw phrase description 4 | kw phrase description 5 | kw phrase descr….
www.site.com

So you get what I mean those ugly three … in your title or Meta – avoid it!!
That should cover the basic title + Meta set up for the new sties!

CONTENT!
All right – now I’m not saying you CAN’T rank pages with little or no content on top but I am saying it’s harder to do so.

IMO each site that is just getting first off-site SEO done should have at least 5 quality articles as well as basic on-site set up already covered before starting off site. If it’s still not done then wait till you finish your on-site to move on to the next step.

So make sure to use your URL’s (permalink structure /%postname%/ or /%category%/%postname%/ worked best for me so far) to put in the KW’s there when making new articles/posts.

Next and this goes for ALL pages of your site – use 1 x H1 tag, 1 x H2 tag, 1 x H3 tag –again put your KW’s in your H tags. Also don’t use multiple h1 or h2 tags as it’s not going to help your on-site SEO.

If you’re adding images to your site (and you should – just make sure they are royalty free as a law suit is just not worth it) you can add your kw or kw phrase to .alt tag as well.

Lastly make sure you have unique content (best 1000 words or so) with KW density 1.5-2% as well as KW in first and last sentence of the article posted on your new site. You can if you wish also mark your KW’s with bold, italic etc.

My advice would be as you’re starting the off- page SEO to gradually keep adding KW targeted 1000+ word articles every 2-3 days to your site till you reach first page. Then you can take it down a notch and go for one let’s say every 5 days. Once you’re on the top you can add one very 7-14 days as you’ve already built some authority and trust to your site.

Just try to cover as many different but related to your topic KW’s as you can!

Also if you’re creating your content or writing your articles in Word – make sure to paste them to notepad before placing them on your site. Word uses some special characters that will create a mess when copied to your site directly.

ON-SITE LINKS
I’m sure that if you’re building an affiliate page or using CPA/AdSense that you’re dying to add the links to your new site BUT I’d suggest you to stay patient till you reach the rankings you want and then slowly add the affiliate/cpa/AdSense links in!

I know this is hard but it’s much harder to rank a brand new site with no content and 5 affiliate links on the home page

So just wait it out till you get to page 1 to add your links and make sure to cloak them!

I wouldn’t advise to going over 3 ads per page but it’s up to you.

If you do feel like adding any external links to your page you can always use to good old Wikipedia trick to gain some trust.
Find the closest article in Wikipedia about your site’s topic and link to it using you anchor text. Don’t post this link anywhere that’s a really call to action but just mention it contextually.

DESING
If you’re using AdSense and making some money with it chance are you’ll get a manual review within the first 2-3 months. And there is one thing manual reviews love and it’s good design.

No worries you don’t have to be a talented web designer to pass it just make sure to make the site look pretty user friendly, have nice easy to use navigation as well as some appealing and topic related pics.

And make sure you get a logo made! This doesn’t have to be a huge item, you can get one for $5 on Fiverr that will do the job.

Also add a Favicon to add a more personalize touch to your site.

SITE ARCHITECTURE
This plays a huge role as well and it can mess up many factors. Some themes are buggier the others, harder to rank, some load faster and some hove a ton of unused CSS on them.

So make sure to choose a light theme that is updated by the developer and that yourself know how to modify.

Also make sure to have as little unrelated links coming off your site (like link to wordpress.com and to your theme creator etc, try to keep it as clean as possible).

Oh yeah and don’t add “tag cloud” to your page – it kills on-site SEO

P.S. forgot to mention canonical tag, it’s must, but if you get one of the two plugins mentioned above (Yoast all all in one) you’ll be covered.

SITE SPEED
One more pretty big on site factor that often remains neglected. You can speed up your site using many different tricks for zipping up the files, to losing some of the features to cleaning up the css but I love the simple to implement advice you can get on this page (and test your site as well)

http://www.gtmetrix.com/

PLUGINS
I’m not really a huge fan of having tons of plugins but here are some I consider to be mandatory

Akismet – blocks your site from tons of unwanted comments

All in One Webmaster – simple way to add all the codes you need to your site

Exploit Scanner – comes in handy to keep the security tight

Google XML Sitemaps – a must have

Google XML Sitemap for Images –not many ppl use this but I ranked my images high with and get some visitors over Google images as well easy to set up and you can submit sitemap to webmaster after it

SEOPressor – the most easy way to KW optimize your post

Shockingly Simple Favicon – this plug doesn’t lie, it really is shockingly simple

WP Super Cache I just prefer it over W3 Total Cache as I get better results but ofc you can go for any one of those two

WordTwit – this one is pretty cool if you have a Twitter account as it automatically tweets (and you can re-tweet as well) about your posts

WP Smush.it – one more for site speed as it reduces your image

This is pretty much it for me and the plugins

ROBOTS
Make sure to block the folders of your site you don’t want to be seen as some serious damage can come from it! So set up your robots.txt
